Kabrena Robinson is an award-winning Afro-Jamaican author, multidisciplinary storyteller, performer, playwright, biomythist, speaker, mentor, and creative writer based in Toronto, Canada. Her expansive body of work reflects a lifelong commitment to amplifying the stories of marginalized and diasporic communities often overlooked by mainstream media. Her areas of expertise include social justice, race, ethnicity, culture, spirituality, and the intersections of identity across the Caribbean and African diasporas.
As a multidisciplinary storyteller, Kabrena’s creative practice spans theatre, movement, dub poetry and spoken word poetry. Her artistic work draws deeply from Afro-Caribbean spirituality, pantomime traditions, and African griot storytelling, weaving ritual, ancestral memory, and lived experience into bold, transformative performance.
A passionate advocate for youth empowerment, Kabrena leads workshops and creative programs that help young people, particularly those from African and Caribbean communities, express their creativity and discover their voices. Her mission is to instill cultural pride, self-awareness, and confidence in the next generation. These values are reflected throughout her collection of uplifting children’s books, which offer positive and authentic representations of Black and Caribbean children.
In addition to her writing and mentorship, Kabrena is the founder and CEO of Eva-Michelle & Family Publishing, an award-winning family publishing company that empowers independent authors to bring their stories to life.
